  • In my discussions and research with these great entrepreneurs, I've noticed a few essential characteristics that they all share. What is the secret to their success? Why are these people so successful in business when so many others fail?

Every great entrepreneur has their quirks and eccentricities, which they have gained over years of experience in their contexts. 1.Entrepreneurs that are successful listen more than they speak.

Anyone who has read anything about Steve Jobs know show tough he was to work for and how difficult it was for him to let go of control. What people forget is that even Jobs had a team of advisors and incredibly bright staff behind the scenes to assist him to make all of his judgments. In 1997, when he returned to Apple, the business had 350 products. For two years,Jobs decreased the number of goods to ten. He was able to offer Apple a clear focus, which they are still doing now.Another example of individuals not understanding when to say no is feature overload in technology firms. Most individuals cut using a knife, but they are unlikely to utilize specialized equipment in other situations unless they are in a hairy position.

7. They are aware of the need of maintaining a healthy balance.

Truly successful entrepreneurs understand that there is much more to life than operating a business. They spend time with their loved ones. They take vacations and breaks.

This is an example of them learning from their past blunders in some circumstances. You hear about entrepreneurs working long hours, and many of them suffer from health issues as a result.

In a discussion with MBA students, Warren Buffett was questioned about some of the reasons for his success. He lists two reasons for staying in Nebraska rather than relocating to New York City: finding the appropriate partner and staying in Nebraska (with a quieter, less stressful lifestyle).

Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's COO, has a unique perspective on this. "It's impossible to strike a work-life balance." "There is no balance between work and life," she remarked in a Maker's video interview. She understands the challenges that women, in particular, face when managing family duties with high-powered work.

8. They know how to put together a strong team.

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you'll quickly realize that you can't do it all on your own. It's physically impossible, and you'd quickly exhaust yourself.

Furthermore, no human individual, no matter how brilliant, educated, or experienced, is likely to possess the whole skill set required to manage a successful business on their own. That's why I'm a firm believer in testing your company ideas before investing too much of your time and money into them. 

None of the entrepreneurs I've researched have achieved success on their own. They've all assembled a group of dedicated, resourceful, and talented individuals. You must be able to delegate to be a successful business. You must be able to delegate authority and make choices in others' areas of responsibility.

Many of the world's most successful entrepreneurs, like Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, Larry Page, Warren Buffett, and others, have learned the value of focusing on what they do best and entrusting the rest to competent individuals. When you combine all eight of these characteristics, you're on your way to creating something momentous.​
